On November, 4, 2016 Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo and Sgt. Emmanuel Kwo, of the 43 Precinct in the Bronx, spotted a vehicle that had been used in an armed home invasion just minutes earlier. After a short pursuit, they and other officers were engaged in a gun battle with a career criminal. Sgt. Kwo was shot in the leg and is recovering. Sgt. Tuozzolo, a 19-year department veteran, was mortally wounded and passed away at Jacobi Hospital. Sgt. Tuozzolo, 41, was the married father of two young children. All monies raised will go to the Sergeants Benevolent Association Widows and Children’s Fund and will be used for scholarships for the children of slain Sergeant Paul Tuozzolo. Please keep Sgts. Tuozzolo and Kwo and their loved ones and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers during this extremely challenging and heartbreaking time.
