More Than $100,000 Raised in Less Than an Hour for “Bubby’s Trust”
GoFundMe for Adopted Special Needs Boy and Family Goes Viral
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. | December 21, 2016 — In one of the fastest growing campaigns in recent GoFundMe history, Bubby’s Trust has raised more than $100,000 in less than an hour. With donations continuing to pour in from all over the country, this GoFundMe for an adopted boy with special needs has already received support from more than 1,700 donors.
“Bubby is 4 years old and a true blessing. After nearly 16 years trying to conceive, Bubs came into our lives, and our hearts were forever changed,” said Bubby’s mom, Shannon.
Bubby has Intractable Epilepsy, Ataxic Cerebral Palsy, encephalopathy, and cortical dysplasia. All proceeds raised through the campaign will be held in Bubby’s Trust and will be used only for his direct benefit and needs, which are not covered by Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid. This includes making his home wheelchair accessible, a wheelchair accessible van, Anat Baniel Method (ABM) therapy, and other things that would contribute to his quality of life, but are not covered under any insurances or state/federal programs.
