GoFundMe Fresno: Fresno Community Creates Over 7,400 GoFundMe Campaigns, Raises $6.5 Million
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — GoFundMe, the world’s largest social fundraising platform, today released new data highlighting the giving community in Fresno. Members of the Fresno community have started over 7,400 GoFundMe campaigns, raising $6.5 million from 94,000 total donations.
“Whether it’s a young entrepreneur starting his first company, raising money to support your colleague, or helping to introduce folks to art therapy, the Fresno community routinely steps up. There have been millions of dollars donated to thousands of campaigns to generously help friends, family, and local communities during times of need,” said GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon.

- The Fresno metro area has created more than 7,400 campaigns.

Fresno Gives Back
Jalen is an 8-year old CEO of Jalen's Bakery. With the help of his mom, he hopes to make his dreams come true. He wants to own a house, raise funding for college, continue to give back to the community and to learn the life of being a young entrepreneur. Funds received from GoFundMe will help Jalen's Bakery to fulfill online ordering and shipping nationwide, and overall expand his business in order to reach all of his goals.
Amber Crowell was moving from Texas to California with her husband to begin her new job as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Fresno State when her Uhaul and car that was attached to the back were stolen from the motel parking lot. She lost all of her belongings, so her new Fresno State colleagues created this campaign to help get her and her husband get back on their feet.
The mobile pottery bus was created to introduce people to ceramic art therapy through a mobile bus that travels from festival to festival. They provide instruction and finished pieces to kids, families, and adults who are interested in trying something new.
