New on GoFundMe: A Community Is Rallying to Preserve a Living Piece of Texas History

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., August 18, 2016 -- Twin Sisters Dance Hall, one of the oldest in Texas, has been around since the 1870s and and is in need of a new roof. Blanco resident Jo Nell Haas has launched a GoFundMe campaign to replace the leaking, 90-year-old roof so the music and merriment can go on.

As campaign organizer Jo Nell Haas writes, “Many of us have generational ties to this hall and some just have the best memories of learning to dance with our dad, sleeping under the tables while our parents danced the night away, meeting our husband or wife, celebrating a wedding or anniversary, or maybe just a memory of lots of laughter with friends—help us to keep the music alive and those boots sliding across that floor!”
