The Milestone Club is a live music institution in Charlotte, NC. First opened in 1969, the Club has hosted great musicians, including R.E.M., Nirvana, Melissa Etheridge, and many more. Forty-six years of live shows have taken a toll on the building, and the owners, Stephanie and Jon Hughes, started a GoFundMe to help with repairs. They wrote, “The Milestone Club is badly in need of repair to continue to be the constant the city of Charlotte needs.” In 8 months, their community has responded and 727 people have helped raised $44,000 for the Milestone.
