Actor Chris Pratt Launches CrowdRise Fundraiser Inspired by Teen for Seattle Children’s Hospital and Offers Chance to Win Set Visit to Jurassic World Sequel

Donors have a chance to win a Hawaiian trip for four to spend time with Pratt on the set of the Jurassic World Sequel

Redwood City, CA | May 4, 2017 -- CrowdRise, part of GoFundMe, announced today that actor Chris Pratt is teaming up with 14-year-old Makenna Schwab, a patient of Seattle Children’s Hospital, to start a fundraiser benefiting the hospital’s orthopedics and sports medicine department. Donors will have an opportunity to win a trip for four to spend time with Chris on the set of Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World sequel in Hawaii.

Chris and Makenna met a year and a half ago at Seattle Children’s, became fast friends, and decided to work on a project to help kids like her. Makenna suffers from a rare connective tissue disorder called Larsen Syndrome. Over the course of her life, she has been treated at Seattle Children’s Hospital and received more than 15 life-saving surgeries. Together, Chris and Makenna are launching this fundraiser to build awareness and help others.

“[Makenna’s] wish was to raise money so she could help other kids in her similar situation. She’s extraordinary,” said Chris in a video posted on his CrowdRise campaign. “She’s the kind of young, wonderful kid who one day is going to run this world. She’s so strong, so wise, and her spirit is so vibrant, so pure and full of life.”

Each donation of $10 to the fundraiser is an entry to win; for example, if someone donates $50, they will be entered five times. The winner of the contest will receive a trip for four people to Hawaii, including roundtrip airfare, accommodations for four nights, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join Chris and get a sneak peek at the production of Jurassic World sequel, all while helping a great cause and making Makenna’s wish come true.
